Amentum is seeking a GSCM Performance & Modernization Intern for Summer 2025, based in Chantilly, VA, with options for remote work. The intern will engage in procurement strategy, data analytics, and process improvement over a 10+ week period, collaborating with senior managers and cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include analyzing supply chain data, conducting research, and presenting findings. US Citizenship is required, and advanced Excel skills are preferred.
GSCM Performance & Modernization Intern (Summer 2025)

The Corporate Global Supply Chain Performance & Innovation team is seeking an intern to learn; provide insight and analytical precision to solve complex business challenges. During your 10+ weeks in this role you will actively participate in the procurement Strategy process with day-to-day responsibilities across multiple areas including strategic requirements planning, data analytics, process improvement initiatives and other similar activities. You will be reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Performance & Innovation and will work closely with Amentum’s corporate supply chain team, senior managers and cross-functional stakeholders.

This position will be based in Northern Virginia (Chantilly or Herndon) but is open to remote-telework work for qualified candidates. We prefer someone that can work a HYBRID role. US Citizenship is required.

What You'll Do:

The future is uncertain, and that’s where we come in. Analyzing data. Anticipating what’s possible. We’re here to solve what’s next and get ahead of the toughest challenges we face. As a Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) Intern, your responsibilities may include:
• Gaining understanding and engaging in various assignments in support of key GSCM projects and initiatives that drive supply chain maturity, value and sustainability in the areas of Environmental Sustainability, Transportation, Category Management and Supply Chain Disruption.
• Conduct research regarding suppliers and facilitate meetings for capability briefings to determine value for Amentum.
• Analyze supply chain data to support reasonable conclusions on commodity spend, facilitate award close-out and other supply chain centric data.
• Learn metrics and how we track business health.
• Assist with creating supply chain presentations and content to communicate with stakeholders.
• Take the initiative to troubleshoot issues as they arise and learn the Global Supply Chain Management standards, plans and policies.
• Work on large projects and manage time and effort without need for constant supervision.
• Assist in organizing and facilitating team meetings to achieve continuous process improvement.
• Disseminate information to appropriate stakeholders regarding agreement or purchase order status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation and termination.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Amentum staff representing the legal, technical, financial, and managerial interests of the master agreement award and technical performance.
• Present synopsis of internship responsibilities and achievements to GSCM Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at the conclusion of internship.
• Contribute to data analytics relevant to the Global Supply Chain organization and its stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Clear and concise communication skills, gaining experience presenting to senior management levels.
• Advanced Excel skills to compile, analyze and report on data for PowerPoint presentations.
• Adaptable based on business rhythm changes.
• Able to gain consensus to drive improvement.
• Demonstrate initiative, uncompromised integrity, and a results-oriented mindset.
• Acute attention to detail with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong presentation skills and confidence in presenting to upper management.
• Strong motivation and work ethic with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Qualifications:
• Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Global Supply Chain, or other related degrees.
• Studies include emphasis on Global Supply Chain Management.
• Understand Global Supply Chain concepts and best practices.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Analytical skills.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
