The LFF Group is a major stockholder and supplier of pipe, fittings, flanges and valves to a wide range of industries including petrochemical, energy and water. We have 16 offices across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand with more than 500,000 square feet of warehousing space.
As our Group Environment & Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a key role in a friendly organisation, building on an established ISO 14001 environmental management system and developing objectives to drive sustainability improvements across the business.
This is a hybrid role where remote working is optional. Regular attendance at the Basildon office is required each week; the specific split will be agreed with the successful candidate.
Working under the HSE Manager and responsible LFF Group Director, your key responsibilities will include:
· Take lead responsibility for environment and sustainability within the LFF Group.
· Manage operational environmental compliance and reporting, including waste management arrangements, Duty of Care obligations, packaging and waste data collection, extended producer responsibility (EPR), and the submission of all required environmental returns, working with internal teams and external partners as required.
· Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
· Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, coordinating personnel where required, and staying up to date with current and upcoming regulations.
· Implement and continue to develop our ISO 14001 certified management system.
· Audit, analyse and report environmental performance internally and externally, including carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
· Visit other LFF Group sites to conduct internal audits, assist with third party audits and carry out risk and impact assessments.
· Train staff on environmental issues and responsibilities to promote environmental awareness and continual improvement across the company.
· Set organisational sustainability targets and strategies and oversee their delivery.
· Prepare our annual sustainability report.
· Drive supply chain engagement on environmental issues.
· Assist commercial, quality and health and safety personnel with completing customer questionnaires and maintaining online qualification platforms.

· Have a strong interest in sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact.
· Have a strong willingness and ability to independently and quickly learn new subjects, including legislative requirements.
· Be proficient in problem-solving and systems thinking.
· Use initiative to recognise and address emerging problems.
· Have strong negotiation and organisational skills.
· Demonstrate leadership and influence.
· Have a high level of computer literacy including excellent Excel proficiency.
· Have commercial awareness and understanding of business operations.
· Be self-motivated with project management and presentation skills.
· Have good communication skills, both oral and written and be confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
· Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental or related subject.
