Grid Connection Manager – Renewable Energy (Germany)

A leading global player in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Grid Connection Manager to oversee grid integration activities for clean energy projects across Germany. This organization develops and operates a diversified portfolio of renewable energy assets including wind, solar photovoltaic (PV), and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced professional with a solid grasp of the German grid connection landscape and technical expertise in renewable energy systems. This role will play a critical part in ensuring successful, timely, and cost-effective integration of new energy projects into the grid.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the entire grid connection process for renewable energy projects across Germany.
• Evaluate connection options, balancing technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and financial impact.
• Prepare and submit grid connection applications and liaise with relevant authorities.
• Oversee external grid consultants supporting connection efforts throughout project development.
• Serve as the primary contact with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and other key stakeholders.
• Identify grid-related risks and implement mitigation strategies to support project delivery timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate closely with planning and project management teams to align technical requirements with development goals.
• Provide progress reports and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with network operators.
• Perform additional duties as aligned with the role.

Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector.

Key Competencies
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Hands-on experience with grid connection processes for both load and generation facilities.
• Deep understanding of German grid regulations, standards, and application procedures.
• Strong knowledge of Germany’s transmission and distribution networks.
• Capable of interpreting technical documentation, engineering specifications, and layout drawings.
