Job Description
Climate Analytics Inc. is seeking a Grenada National Consultant for data collection and stakeholder engagement to support the NDC3.0 process. The consultant will aid in gathering data, reviewing documents, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and organizing consultations and workshops. This role requires local expertise to ensure effective participation in climate planning, contributing to Grenada's commitment to enhance its Nationally Determined Contributions aligned with the Paris Agreement.

Background
The AMBITION project primary objective is to provide technical needs-based support to countries to develop 2035 NDCs and/or develop LT-LEDS with more ambitious mitigation and/or adaptation evidence-based targets that are consistent with Paris Agreement. this project also seeks to enhance the capacity of vulnerable developing countries in targeted regions in strategic planning, aligning their NDCs with long-term low emissions development strategies. It aims to empower these countries to develop robust and ambitious climate plans that contribute to global efforts in achieving the Paris Agreement.
Grenada is committed to enhancing its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDCs) as part of the NDC3.0 process. As part of these efforts, CA is:
• Conducting modelling for energy supply and demand, including for the transportation sector
• Supporting drafting of the NDC document
• Recommending institutional improvements for target adoption and climate-related decision-making
To achieve this, there is a need for national expertise to support data collection, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation of workshops and consultations. This consultancy aims to support country ownership and active participation in the NDC3.0 process by national stakeholders.
Objective of the assignment and scope of work
The effective employment of an energy system model requires the collection of extensive data as well as inputs from key stakeholders to ensure that scenarios are accurate. Additionally, as the bulk of the team working on this project is located in other countries, it would benefit from a local presence that is familiar with Grenada’s climate-
related policymaking context. For these reasons, CA is seeking a locally-based consultant to support these efforts.
The consultant will work closely with the CA team to ensure that the team has the information and advice necessary to complete the project.
The principal responsibilities of this consultancy would include the following:
• Data Collection: Collaborate with the national focal points to collect relevant data and information needed to update the NDCs, including from ministries, government agencies, and other relevant national and regional sources.
• Document Review: Review key national and international documents related to NDCs, climate change strategies, and action plans. Provide feedback and identify gaps or areas for improvement.
• Facilitation of Ownership and Engagement: Support the national focal points in the NDC 3.0 process to ensure it is owned and driven by national stakeholders, facilitating coordination between different sectors and ministries.
• Organization of Consultations and Workshops: Support the planning, preparation, and organization of stakeholder consultations and workshops. This may include developing agendas, preparing materials, booking venues, and facilitating sessions.
• Stakeholder Input and Review: Assist the national focal points in gathering feedback from stakeholders on key outputs, including drafts of updated NDCs. Facilitate the review and incorporation of this feedback into final outputs.
• Reporting and Coordination: Provide bi-weekly updates and reports on the progress of the work, coordinating with the national focal points and the AMBITION Project team to ensure alignment with overall objectives.
• Other Tasks: As identified by the national focal points and in alignment with the goals of the NDC3.0 process.
Deliverables
The consultancy is expected to work over approximately 5 months and will be responsible for the following deliverables:
• Stakeholder engagement report including stakeholder lists, data collection lists, feedback and recommendations.
• Document reviews with identified gaps and recommendations.
Your profile
Required qualifications and experience
Essential:
• Proven familiarity with Grenadian climate change policymaking context
• Basic understanding of the international climate change negotiations and countries’ obligations under the Paris Agreement
• Experience engaging with government stakeholders
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to identify and map relevant stakeholders
• Proven ability to deliver results in a timely manner
Desired:
• Robust network and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the policymaking space
• Experience organising stakeholder engagement activities
• Willingness to engage with and follow up with key stakeholders through all relevant communications mediums (e.g. text, email, phone, in-person)

• Location: This role should be based in Grenada.
• Terms: Fixed-term of 5 months Invoicing: The consultant will invoice based on the number of days worked. Travel costs, per diems, and other expenses will not be covered under this contract and are expected to be managed independently by the consultant.
