Green Iowa AmeriCorps- RHT 6 Month Positions

Green Iowa AmeriCorps is hiring for 6-month positions focused on environmental education, community engagement, and energy efficiency services in Iowa. Responsibilities include conducting outreach, recruiting volunteers, and implementing conservation projects. Members will gain professional development and receive an education award upon completion. The role requires full-time commitment, with a preference for candidates with some college experience. Applications are not currently being accepted.
¿ Conducting environmental education lessons and presentations ¿ Engaging in and leading environmental outreach and community engagement projects ¿ Recruiting and engaging volunteers in service to the community ¿ Conducting residential energy efficiency services (primarily for vulnerable populations) ¿ Enhancing commercial energy efficiency projects for public buildings (LED upgrades, etc.) ¿ Developing Climate Action Plans & Greenhouse Gas Inventories for counties and organizations ¿ Developing waste reduction strategies for sites and communities ¿ Planting trees and restoring tree canopies in vital communities ¿ Engaging in water quality services (sampling, testing, river clean-ups, etc.) ¿ Engaging in additional conservation projects (prairie burns, GIS, soil restoration, etc.) ¿ Enhancing one’s own Professional Development through specific projects and trainings, tailored to their own areas of interest

Member Duties : •Weatherize Homes 2-4 days/week •Facilitate energy education programs 1-2 days/week •Participate in community outreach projects 1-2 days/week •Assume one of the following team leadership roles: o Project Development o Promotions •Build personal energy efficiency knowledge, Serve as a community resource •Plan and oversee at least 1 individual community volunteer generating project (VGP)
