Job Description
Connect Executive Resourcing Limited seeks a Graduate Analyst for Energy Markets in Croydon, UK. The role requires a numerical graduate with strong analytical and communication skills to manage data reporting, support energy sales and purchases validation, and collaborate with various teams. Candidates should have a relevant degree, proficiency in Excel and VBA, and a keen understanding of energy market regulations. This position offers skill development in the UK energy industry.
Job Description
A strong numerical graduate is required for a development role with a leading energy business based just outside of London.
This an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to develop a wide range of skills and develop a thorough understanding of the UK energy industry.
The role holder will need strong analytical skills to allow them to manage large data reporting, whilst excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will enable them to manage stakeholders across the business and external counter-parties.
A full job spec will sent to the shortlisted candidates but an overview of responsibilities will include:
• Support the overall delivery processes for the validation and settlement of the volume of energy sales and purchases across the gas and power customers, transportation costs for power, gas and coal and renewable energy obligations.
• Development and maintenance of models and systems to support the team’s operational activities and ad hoc analysis
• Support the team delivering the complete recognition of both creditors and Cost of Sales reporting
• Provide input into the development of new products through developing strong working relationships with Sales & Marketing, IT, Finance and external counter-parties.
• Develop your knowledge of compliance within EU regulatory reporting policies such as EMIR and REMIT
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of clients payments and production of statements.
• Responsible for gaining an understanding and maintaining awareness of all energy market changes to ensure the company remains compliant with industry regulations at all times.
Ideal qualifications, skill sets and experience:
• Relevant degree preferably in Finance / Economics/ Energy Trading
• Strong numerical, modelling and analytical skills
• Proficient in Excel and VBA Skills
• Strong organisational skills and delivery focused
• Attention to detail and focus on the accuracy of work and procedures for improvement
• Good interpersonal skills – able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Excellent problem solving skills using both logic and intuition to derive solutions for both finance and the business
• Ability to learn and understand the impact on the industry, company and division of the changes to the industry such as the Energy Markets Review (EMR), Smarter Markets Programme, gas market changes, REMIT and EMIR reporting obligations, National Grid transmission changes, renewable obligations and emission trading
