Global Head of Sustainability - Data Center (Open to Relocation)

Job Summary:

A global and leading data center developer is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Sustainability Leader to spearhead their global sustainability initiatives across all data center locations. This role will be instrumental in developing and executing strategies that align with our corporate goals, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions, while ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Location: Dubai (global relocation)

Key Responsibilities:

Sustainability Strategy & Leadership:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive global sustainability strategy for data center operations, aligned with corporate ESG goals.
• Lead cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into design, construction, and operational processes.
• Establish and drive carbon reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with hyperscaler clients to align sustainability efforts with their stringent environmental requirements.

Data & Reporting:
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability metrics, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Prepare ESG reports, carbon footprint assessments, and climate risk analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor global regulations, reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD), and industry best practices to maintain compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Real Estate, Engineering) to embed sustainable practices.
• Engage with clients, investors, and partners to communicate the company's sustainability vision and progress.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, working groups, and public forums to strengthen its reputation as a sustainability leader.
• Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies and processes to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
• Foster partnerships with clean energy providers, research institutions, and technology innovators.
• Promote a culture of sustainability by organizing training programs and awareness campaigns for employees.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in sustainability leadership, within data centers, or real estate sectors .
• Strong knowledge of global ESG reporting standards, carbon accounting, and climate-related regulations.
• Proven track record of developing and executing sustainability strategies with measurable results.
• Excellent project management, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with hyperscalers and navigate their sustainability demands.
• Deep understanding of renewable energy technologies and their application in large-scale infrastructure.
