Job Description

The GHG & LCA Specialist is responsible for supporting clients in achieving their sustainability goals by managing GHG inventories, conducting LCAs, and developing decarbonization strategies. The role involves technical analysis, client engagement, and the creation of actionable recommendations to reduce carbon footprints and improve environmental impact.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare GHG inventories following recognized standards such as the Corporate GHG Protocol.
• Analyze emission sources, identify data gaps, and calculate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for clients across diverse industries.
• Conduct LCAs to evaluate environmental impacts across the lifecycle stages of products, services, or operations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce emissions and resource usage, contributing to more sustainable practices.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement strategies for decarbonization, aligned with their business goals and sustainability objectives.
• Create detailed reports and presentations to effectively communicate technical findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure complex data is translated into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain strong client relationships by providing expert advice, timely updates, and consistent support.
• Stay informed on industry trends, sustainability reporting frameworks, and Canadian climate regulations.
• Explore and recommend innovative tools or methodologies to improve GHG management and LCA processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• 3-5 years of proven experience in GHG inventory preparation and LCA methodologies.
• Proficiency in sustainability frameworks and standards such as ISO 14040/14044, Corporate GHG Protocol, or similar.
• Advanced analytical skills for data interpretation and emissions calculations.
• Familiarity with software tools and platforms for carbon accounting and environmental impact analysis.
• Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to engage and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Education Required
• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field), or a related discipline.

Certification Required

Relevant certifications in GHG and LCA accounting and decarbonization are required.

Salary/Wage

$50 - $65k per annum.

A comprehensive, flexible benefits plan is available after three months of employment.

Hours Per Week

40 hours per week.
