ICF International is hiring two remote Managing Consultants to lead projects focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Responsibilities include managing project execution, developing emissions inventories, and supporting clients in sustainability initiatives. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience are required.
About the position

ICF is seeking two Managing Consultant (Project Manager/Technical Lead) roles to join our team, with positions available for remote work across the United States. These roles are pivotal in driving our mission to provide leading-edge technical and policy analyses aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As a Managing Consultant, you will be at the forefront of developing emissions inventories, conducting greenhouse gas mitigation policy analyses, and assisting clients with offset and carbon credit projects. You will also support organizational sustainability efforts and assess the performance of global programs related to climate change impacts and vulnerabilities. In this role, you will focus on greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and planning GHG emission reduction opportunities. You will assist federal and commercial clients in advancing their sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in climate planning, GHG inventory and carbon accounting, and data management applications. Experience in life cycle analysis is a plus. You will be responsible for managing and providing technical leadership on projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and mentoring junior staff. Your responsibilities will include project management and execution, where you will drive the successful execution of projects, develop work plans, and ensure quality assurance for deliverables. You will also collaborate with project directors to respond to client needs in organizational energy and GHG management, providing subject matter expertise in areas such as energy conservation, renewable energy, and GHG emissions reduction measures. Additionally, you will be involved in opportunity capture and proposal development, positioning ICF for success through persuasive proposal writing and technical approach development.

Responsibilities
• Drive successful execution of projects through day-to-day activities, working closely with a team of project directors.
,
• Serve as project manager or task lead, developing and executing work plans.
,
• Direct teams of support staff and perform quality assurance for work products.
,
• Collaborate with project directors to respond to client needs in organizational energy and GHG management.
,
• Provide subject matter expertise in areas such as building energy, energy conservation, and GHG emissions accounting.
,
• Manage 1-2 direct reports, helping manage their workload and serving as a mentor.
,
• Understand emerging needs in the practice area and position ICF for success through client capture conversations and proposal writing.

Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Sustainability, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or related subjects.
,
• 5+ years of relevant climate and sustainability experience including GHG Protocol guidance and expertise with Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG accounting.
,
• Technical expertise in managing multiple climate change, sustainability, and/or energy projects.
,
• Experience in building energy management and identifying energy conservation measures.
,
• Client-facing experience with federal and/or private sector organizations.
,
• Ability to communicate complex energy and climate information to non-scientists.
,
• Experience managing cross-functional teams, schedules, and budgets.
,
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization applications such as Tableau, GIS, and/or Microsoft PowerBI.
