CK Associates, LLC is seeking a mid or senior-level Geologist/Hydrogeologist Environmental Consultant in Shreveport, LA. The role involves field investigations, groundwater monitoring, and managing remediation projects. Our offices are located in Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Shreveport, and The Woodlands, TX. CK's professional services include air, water, and waste permitting and compliance; ecological investigations; and risk assessment and remediation.

Our Houston office (The Woodlands) Risk Assessment, Remediation, and Waste Group is seeking a mid or senior-level Environmental Geologist or Engineer. The role will include field and office work as dictated by various project needs and objectives. The successful candidate will participate in a variety of challenging environmental projects, interacting with our Professional Geologists, Professional Engineers, Chemists, Toxicologists, and Senior Scientists. Responsibilities
• Lead field investigations including drilling oversight; soil logging; soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling; aquifer testing; monitoring well installation, well development, purging, and sampling;
• Conduct groundwater monitoring programs;
• Manage remediation and spill response projects;
• Lead Phase I and II environmental site assessments;
• Interact with client's legal counsel in support of environmental projects;
• Prepare work plans and technical reports;
• Manage data interpretation and preparation of figures, data tables, trend graphs, etc.;
• Assist with solid and hazardous waste permitting; and
• Travel to project sites out of area and to CK's Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, and Shreveport offices as needed.
Qualifications
• Master's or bachelor's degree in Geology or Engineering;
• Experience working as an environmental consultant with soil and groundwater assessment, investigation, and remediation, including experience with TCEQ's Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP);
• Commitment to obtain professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) within 1-2 years;
• Proficient technical writing skills;
• Proficiency with MS Office programs;
• Proficient mathematical and computer skills;
• Experience with groundwater statistical analyses software e.g., Sanitas, a plus;
• Experience with soil boring software e.g., LogPlot, a plus;
• Experience with AutoCAD, ESRI Arcview, a plus;
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites out of area (approximately 25% travel, including some overnight stays) and work outside normal work schedule, as needed;
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and maintain successful client relationships;
• Must be able to satisfy all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements, including obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card;
• This position requires use of a company vehicle. Candidate must be at least 21 years of age with a clean driving record, and able to safely operate a full-size pickup truck; and
• Eager to excel as an individual and in a team environment.
