Job Description

BATTA Environmental Associates Inc is hiring a Geologist/Environmental Scientist in Newark, DE. The role involves conducting Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, site characterizations, and remedial investigations across several states. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience and knowledge of EPA regulations. Batta Environmental, a growing Delaware based environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist to support its activities in performing Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, Site Characterizations and Remedial Investigations and more. Primarily in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, West Virginia.

Responsibilities
• Completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM Standards and AAI Rule
• Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including field work
• Completion of Site Characterizations and Remedial Investigations including field work
• Human Health Risk Assessments
• Ecological Risk Assessments
• Vapor Intrusion Screening and Assessments
• Remedial Action and Remediation Design Oversights
• Feasibility Studies and Cost Estimates
• Develop draft reports for Phase I, Phase II, Remedial Investigations and Remedial Action
• Underground Storage Tank and Aboveground Storage Tank Management
• Air Permitting and Title V
• Develop scopes of work, budgets and proposals

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of Professional Experience
• Knowledge with EPA and ASTM Guidance Documents covering Investigation, Remediation, O&M
• Knowledge and experience with DE/PA/MD Environmental Regulations
• Proven experience in working on Site Characterizations and Remedial Investigations including field work (soil and groundwater)
• Proven experience working on Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments including Risk Modeling and Calculations
• Knowledge and experience with Vapor Intrusion studies/screening, risk calculations, modeling and remedial actions
• Experience with UST testing, closures and installations
• Licensing in Asbestos and Lead-paint is a plus
• AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
• Technical writing skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with Regulatory officials and Customers
