Job Description

Rimfire Resources is seeking a General Manager for the Cavan & Bogo Group in Cavan, NSW, Australia. The role involves strategic and operational leadership, focusing on regenerative agriculture and asset management. Candidates should have at least 15 years of experience in large-scale farm management, particularly in the sheep and wool industry. This full-time position offers a salary of A$155K–A$175K per year and requires regional travel.
The Company

Cavan Station is an historic pastoral enterprise located along the Murrumbidgee River, south of Yass in the NSW Southern Tablelands. Best known as the birthplace of the Saxon Merino – a foundation of Australia’s fine wool industry – Cavan blends a proud heritage with a forward-thinking approach to land and livestock management.

Under the banner of Bogo Genetics, being Bogo Merinos and the Glenfinnan White Suffolk stud, the Cavan Group is leading the way in sustainable, high-performance agriculture. A skilled and dedicated team manages its wool, lamb and beef operations, while actively pursuing opportunities in biodiversity and soil carbon that deliver both environmental and commercial returns.

The Position

Impact Ag Australia (IAA) provides advanced solutions that allow agriculture and nature to thrive together. Championing farming at the nexus of profit and purpose, our nature positive asset management and innovative natural capital strategies align exceptional financial returns with enduring ecological stewardship.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of IAA, the General Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Cavan Group, with oversight of all associated assets. This includes the implementation of regenerative agricultural practices, asset performance management, and the leadership of teams to deliver both financial and environmental outcomes.

The successful candidate will be accountable for driving and executing strategic initiatives across these segments for the IAA group. This role may also extend to managing additional assets outside of the Cavan Group.

The Person

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead one of Australia’s most iconic pastoral enterprises. We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following background, key skills and attributes:

Minimum 15 years’ experience in large-scale farm management, with a focus on stud livestock, regenerative agriculture, and team leadership
Proven track record of leadership within the Australian sheep & wool industry
Track record of accountability for driving & executing strategic initiatives
Results-driven with a strong focus on operational excellence
An effective communicator, with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders
Strong knowledge of Low Stress Stock Handling, regenerative principles, WHS, and environmental compliance
Completion of RCS Farming & Grazing for Profit (highly desirable)
Current Australian Driver’s Licence and flexibility for regional travel
