Waste Connections US, Inc is seeking a safety-conscious Equipment Operator/Laborer for their transfer station in Portsmouth, RI. The role involves operating machinery, directing traffic, performing manual labor, and maintaining the site. Candidates should have a stable employment history and the ability to obtain a 2B Hoisting License. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, with a schedule of 50-55 hours per week.
Waste Connections of Rhode Island is looking for a safety conscious Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our transfer statione in Portsmouth, RI. Pay rate: $23.50 per hour - 50-55 hours per week, Overtime Eligible Schedule: Sunday and Wednesday off Monday/Friday/ Saturday - 7am to 4pm Tuesday/Thursday - 7am to 7pm Why Choose Us? As a transfer station laborer with us the minimum responsibilities are: Operating equipment such as: skid steers and backhoes. Checking trucks in and out of the transfer station and directing traffic at site as necessary. Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable. Perform yard work including cutting weeds. Install temporary wind fences as required. Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues. What we need from you: One year of stable employment history in a similar environment. 2B Hoisting License or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment. Ability to work schedule in all weather conditions Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
