Waste Connections is hiring a General Laborer for their Transfer Station in Commerce, CA. The role involves customer interaction, cash handling, and physical labor tasks on-site, with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, with benefits including a 401k match and paid vacation. About the position

Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a General Laborer to work out of different areas of our Transfer Station located in Mammoth Lakes, CA! The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday 7:00AM - 3:30PM at our Buyback Center, which occasional shift coverage of the Transfer Station/scale house from 6:30AM – 3:00PM or 10:30AM – 7:00PM Monday-Friday. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. The pay range for this job category is $21.00-$22.00 per hour. This is a great opportunity for full time, year round work! We offer family benefits, 401k with a match and paid vacation. In this position you will be working very independently. You will be interacting with the public, doing cash-handling and computer work, and handling labor-intensive tasks on-site. Must have excellent customer service, as well as the ability to stand and do physically demanding work throughout an 8 hour shift. Responsibilities
• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry to the center
• Supporting the buyback center with weighing, payments and sorting
• Sort recycling
• Calculating payments for customers
• Enter truck, car information into computer system
• Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Data entry and answering phones as needed
• Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
• Opening and closing the Transfer Station
• Cleaning, sweeping and pressure washing equipment
• Providing general upkeep of the Scale House
• Heavy lifting of equipment and material
• Learn to operate forklift and bobcat

Requirements
• Customer service skills and a great attitude
• Cash handling experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand throughout an 8 hour shift
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
