Job Description
GE Vernova is seeking a Solar & Storage Solutions Engineering Intern for Battery Energy Storage Systems in 2025. The intern will support the commissioning process by examining procedures, identifying improvements, and collaborating with engineers. About the position
As a member of the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commissioning process for BESS products. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on activities that contribute to the energy transition. You will be involved in thoroughly examining current commissioning procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with engineers and technicians to enhance the overall process. Your contributions will help ensure that commissioning procedures align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and company standards. In this role, you will assist in creating or updating commissioning checklists, documentation, and protocols. You will also provide on-site or remote support during the commissioning of BESS systems, which includes data collection, testing, and verification activities. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you document findings, review commissioning data, and contribute to the development of data-driven insights aimed at improving future commissioning processes. Working closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members, you will foster effective communication and coordination, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. This internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields, and it offers a chance to gain valuable experience in the renewable energy sector. The internship term spans across various opportunities in Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2025, with a commitment of 40 hours per week during the day shift.
Responsibilities
• Thoroughly examine current commissioning procedures for BESS products.

• Assist in creating or updating commissioning checklists, documentation, and protocols.

• Contribute to the development of standardized templates and guidelines.

• Provide on-site or remote support during the commissioning of BESS systems.

• Assist with data collection, testing, and verification activities.

• Document findings, observations, and any issues encountered.

• Review and analyze commissioning data to identify patterns, trends, or areas of concern.

• Contribute to the development of data-driven insights to improve future commissioning processes.

Requirements
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
,
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Enrolled in a full-time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program.

• Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
,
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
,
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
,
• Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
,
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
,
• Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business.

• Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.
