Gardener

Horticruitment UK Ltd is seeking a motivated Gardener to assist the Head Gardener in maintaining a diverse four-acre garden near Altrincham. The role requires good gardening skills, plant knowledge, and the ability to work well in a team. A full clean driving license is essential. The position offers a salary of £27,000 - £30,000 and is full-time, with occasional weekend work required.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an active and motivated Gardener, to assist the Head Gardener, maintaining an exceptional and diverse garden near Altrincham.

The recently created garden extends to four acres and is laid out with a variety of areas including, herbaceous borders; rockery & water gardens; extensive lawns; formal hedges & topiary; pergolas; kitchen garden with glasshouse; and wildlife meadows & ponds.

There is a friendly team onsite and frequent liaison with contractors is required so the ability to communicate clearly and work well as a team is essential. It is essential that the Gardener has discretion at all times and a respectful attitude towards the principals and their property.

The successful applicant will have experience in a similar role, good gardening skills and plant knowledge. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and good time keeping skills are essential for a positive working environment.

The ideal candidate will be physically fit and have a positive disposition with the willingness to learn - someone who takes pride in their work.

It is desirable but not essential for the candidate to hold an RHS level 2 or equivalent; PA1/PA6; and experience in using and maintaining a range of garden machinery.

A full, clean driving licence is essential.

The working week is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and evening work for which time off in lieu is given.

This is a long-term position requiring commitment and flexibility. References and enhanced DBS will be requested from the successful applicant.
