Reep Green Solutions seeks a Fundraising and Events Coordinator for a hybrid role in Kitchener, ON. The position involves organizing events and creating educational content to support climate change programs. Background
Reep Green Solutions is an environmental charity that helps people in Waterloo Region live sustainably. Our programs on home energy efficiency, water conservation, healthy yards, urban forest, and waste reduction empower participants to take action. In short, we work together with the community on practical solutions for addressing and adapting to climate change. We believe that by acting today, we can create a community that is more resilient, vibrant, caring and sustainable.
Position Summary
The Fundraising and Events Coordinator will work with the Communications Manager at Reep to organize events and create interactive, educational content for events supporting our Climate Change Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation programs.
A key aspect of this role is implementing a community engagement and outreach strategy that includes interacting with the public individually and at community events, meetings, and workshops.
This is a hybrid role. This role includes in-person events and meetings, as well as virtual meetings and working remotely on tasks.
Hours: 5 days/week, totaling 35 hours/week
Term: Thursday May 1st 2025 to Thursday August 21st 2025 (16 weeks)
Hourly Wage: $20.90 per hour, set to reflect our commitment to providing a living wage for all of our team members.

Tasks & Responsibilities
Reep Events:
• Coordinate event logistics with partners and event organizers on behalf of Reep
• Manage event planning spreadsheet and track materials needed for each event
• Represent Reep at public events, sharing an understanding of our program offerings with the general public and engaging people in multiple ways to further engagement
• Coordinate with internal team and volunteer coordinator for additional staff or volunteer support and/or guest facilitators at events
• Facilitate events by leading preparations, set-up, and take-down of equipment and materials for each event
• Develop interactive and passive materials for use at tabling events to ensure quality materials are prepared and targeted for key events
• Create graphic designs and templates to promote events
• Coordinate with Communications team on outreach about events
Annual Event:
• Assist in planning Reep’s 25th Anniversary Event
• Logistical support & coordination for Reep’s 25th Anniversary Event
• Coordinate volunteers and assist with set up and tear down of event venue and equipment setup
• Maintaining event schedule and ensuring all deadlines are met
• Assisting with the creation and distribution of 25th anniversary event promotional material
• Handling event-related inquiries and troubleshoot any potential issues
• Conducting post-event evaluation to assess the success of events and identify potential improvements for future events
Fundraising:
• Assist in planning annual donor campaigns
• Assist with donor focus group planning
• Develop communication campaigns to build relationships with donors and supporters
• Prepare fundraising materials, including brochures, presentations and thank you letters
• Support the creation and distribution of promotional content and materials
• Assist in the development of a donor survey to collect demographic information on current donors
• Work with Admin/HR Coordinator to analyze donor segmentation
• In addition to these responsibilities, other tasks may be added as required by the organization
Qualifications and Skills Required
• Currently enrolled or graduated in a degree or college diploma program in a related field AND/OR experience in a related field or similar role.
• Alignment with environmental organizations/sustainability knowledge & experience
• Community engagement and/or public education experience
• Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suits or similar program is REQUIRED
• Ability to work independently, as well as to collaborate effectively
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Enthusiasm for working in all types of weather
• Located within Waterloo Region is a must for in person events
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• Access to a vehicle with a full G driver’s license with proof of insurance and a clean driving record
This role is partially funded through Government of Canada funding; To be eligible for this position you MUST meet the following criteria:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• *International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible for this role
