Job Title: Forestry Technician at Trihydro Corporation
Location: San Luis Obispo, Signal Hill, or Roseville, CA
Job Summary:
Trihydro, one of the top environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country, is seeking a Forestry Technician to join our Natural Resource Resiliency initiative. This initiative is focused on natural resource management throughout California. If you have an interest, education, and/or experience in forestry, wildfire prevention, or natural resource management, this is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that balance ecological relevance with landowner goals.
In this role, you will support all aspects of forestry, wildfire prevention, and natural resource management projects. Under the direction of a Registered Professional Forester, your tasks may include timber marking, cruising, pest control, forest engineering, establishing and measuring sample plots, remote sensing, GIS processing and analysis, resource surveys, forestry assistance, urban forestry, and directing work crews.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct mapping and inventory of wildland soils, vegetation, and roads.
• Perform surveys for forest pests and rare or endangered species.
• Support fire modeling, prescribed burn planning, and post-fire recovery efforts.
• Assist in forest economics studies, logging oversight, and biomass procurement.
• Conduct environmental reviews and permitting activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Forestry or a related field (e.g., natural resource management, conservation, biology, botany, geology, hydrology, ecology, soil science, range, wildlife, or fisheries management).
• 1-4 years of relevant forestry experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork in inclement weather and/or for long hours.
• Acceptable driving record and a strong commitment to safe operations.
• Strong organizational skills.

The salary information shown below is a general guideline ONLY. Salaries are based on candidates' experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $67,000- $76,000
This position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been selected.
