CCI Inc. is seeking a Forestry Project Manager for a full-time role based in Calgary or Cochrane, Alberta, starting in April or May. The position involves managing diverse forestry and energy projects from inception to completion, overseeing budgets, and liaising with stakeholders. Summary Of Position

We are looking for high achievers that want to have a positive impact on the natural landscapes of Alberta! You will have a diverse workload that includes work for forestry and energy industry clients.

The Project Manager will manage the development, implementation and evaluation of projects. Projects are taken from original concept right through to final completion. This position’s primary focus is managing multiple projects that are of local interest, have a range of stakeholders, and typically are short in duration.

Reporting to the Forestry and Construction Manager, this position requires a self-motivated, safety conscious individual who takes great pride in their work. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a diverse team of environmental professionals and grow your career in project management and business development.
Accountabilities
• Prepare and oversee writing of high-quality scientific and technical reports containing graphical, tabular, cartographic and written documentation of work results. Present analysis results to clients and/or company executive. Provide recommendations to the clients.
• Completion and review of reports, plans, and assessments pertaining to various forestry and energy projects.
• Analyze and interpret field data and include in comprehensive reports.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulatory agencies and appropriate industry-related organizations to maintain expertise of market-sector trends and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee budget tracking and manage contractor relationships to ensure project milestones and financial objectives are met.
• Lead and/or participate in proposal preparation.
• Supervise team members to ensure schedule and work being completed on time and within budget.
• Commit to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established health, safety, and quality standards.
• Serve as a mentor for young professionals within the group supporting their professional development.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in a natural resource field.
• 5 - 10 years relevant experience in the forest industry.
• In-depth understanding of forest industry or energy industry and existing industry relationships that could be leveraged into new business.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations.
• Experience in project management (budget, scheduling, planning, work supervision).
• 1-3 yrs Jr Project Manager.
• 5+ yrs Sr Project Manager.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite software programs.
• Knowledge of Esri-based field and office products.
• Ability to draft reports and perform field assessments.
• Registered or able to register with AAFMP and/or Association of BC Forest Professionals (RPF, RFT).
• Positive attitude, highly organized, and proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff members.
• Willingness to work in various locations throughout Alberta and BC.
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License.
Other Assets, Skills, And Training
• Standard First Aid & CPR, ATV Safety Training and H2S Alive.
• Experience with forest planning, harvesting operations, silviculture, Fire Smart, restoration or reclamation.
