About the position

Alpha Services LLC is seeking 125 Forestry Workers for a temporary full-time seasonal position focused on tree planting and reforestation. The employment period is from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described in the job description and be available for the entire specified period. The role involves various duties such as reforesting and protecting timber tracts, sowing seeds, lifting seedlings from nursery beds, placing shade materials beside seedlings, and applying mulch. Workers will also be responsible for post-plant hand scalp, which involves removing excess vegetation around seedlings, and applying repellent or fertilizer to seedlings, along with other forestry-related activities as per the Forestry & Land Management General Forestry Laborer activities. The job requires physical activities including lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating materials. Workers must exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Attention to detail is crucial, and tasks must be completed in a timely manner. The work is conducted outdoors, exposing workers to various weather conditions, and candidates must be capable of performing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. The hours may fluctuate, and there may be possible downtime or overtime. The employer complies with applicable Federal, State, and local laws pertaining to overtime hours. The wage range for this position is between $12.35 and $20.66 per hour, with overtime pay ranging from $18.53 to $30.99 per hour, depending on the location and experience. Transport to designated job sites will be provided at no cost to the worker, and subsistence will be reimbursed. The employer will also provide tools, supplies, and equipment without charge or deposit. Workers will be paid every two weeks, and all deductions required by law will be made by the employer. Optional housing is provided at no cost to the worker, and carpool contributions are available but not a condition of employment.
