Participants will learn essential skills such as safety protocols, incident command, and wildland fire suppression techniques. They will also gain knowledge in soil and hydrology, silviculture, land measurement, and forest health improvement. The role involves maintaining trails and recreation areas, operating specialized tools and equipment, and conducting flora and fauna surveys. This position not only provides valuable work experience but also includes a living stipend, free housing, healthcare, meals, and transportation from home. Students can also earn a public land corps certificate, which offers federal hiring preference, and engage in paid work-based learning on National Forests. The program is flexible, allowing students to progress at their own pace over a period of up to two years.

Responsibilities
