Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forester/ Timber Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable land management. As a Forester, you will play a crucial role in managing forest resources, conducting research, and implementing ecological restoration projects. This position requires a blend of fieldwork and data analysis, making it essential for candidates to possess both practical skills and theoretical knowledge in forestry and environmental science.

Duties
• Conduct assessments of forest health and biodiversity to inform management decisions.
• Implement ecological restoration projects aimed at enhancing forest ecosystems.
• Collect and analyze research data related to forest conditions, species diversity, and habitat quality.
• Utilize GIS software, including ArcGIS, for mapping and spatial analysis of forest resources.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations affecting forestry practices.
• Collaborate with landowners, stakeholders, and governmental agencies on sustainable land use practices.
• Monitor the effects of land management activities on local ecosystems.
• Prepare reports and presentations based on research findings and project outcomes.

Skills
• Strong understanding of environmental law as it pertains to forestry and land management.
• Proficiency in GIS technologies, particularly ArcGIS, for data mapping and analysis.
• Experience with ecological restoration techniques and practices.
• Solid data analysis skills to interpret research findings effectively.
• Background in agriculture or gardening can be beneficial for understanding land use practices.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and collect relevant data in various field conditions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse groups and presenting findings.

Pay: $45,061.68 - $110,000.00 per year
