Job Description
The Fernbank Museum in Atlanta, GA is seeking volunteers for a Forest Restoration position. Participants will engage in ecological restoration efforts, focusing on eradicating invasive species and replanting native plants on the museum campus. A strong interest in restoration ecology, botany, or horticulture is encouraged. Volunteers will work primarily on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
This position provides an opportunity to learn about current and future ecological restoration efforts on the Fernbank Museum of Natural History campus and help eradicate non-native invasive species. With this position volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about native woodlands and also assist with restoration activities such as removing invasive plant species and replanting native plant species in forested areas around and behind the museum.
Background and/or strong interest in restoration ecology, botany, gardening, or horticulture encouraged.

Forest Restoration Days will usually take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon on the second Saturday of each month, though other opportunities may arise.
