About the Opportunity

At ECC we design, inspect, implement and maintain erosion control measures to support environmental protection and to help our clients’ avoid regulatory non-compliance scenarios. ECC is currently looking for a Foreman (Team Lead) to join our growing Calgary Construction Team.

The Team Lead is expected to lead and motivate our construction team to meet company targets. It is their responsibility to manage the team of construction staff to properly execute mitigation measures at residential subdivision sites, infrastructure developments and other construction sites. The ideal candidate is someone who has leadership skills, is experienced in sediment and erosion control mitigation, communicates effectively, has an eye for detail and enjoys working outdoors. Responsibilities
• Full time employment
• Works with contractors, operators and owners to identify and resolve erosion problems during construction
• Assess potential impacts of construction activities to wetlands, streams and buffers
• Lead, motivate and develop the team to ensure performance targets are met. This includes operational targets such as safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
• Lead weekly meetings for efficiency and accountability
• Review team performance, efficiency and accountability to identify areas for improvement
• Manage team or individual performance in line with company processes and procedures
• Promote Safety, Health and Environmental awareness at all times.
• Work with management to generate and implement ideas to continuously improve individual, team and processes performance
• Regular business hours, with potential evening and weekend work where required
• Maintains all required certifications and participates in continuing education

Key Attributes for the Ideal Candidate
• Previous construction experience in earthmoving or landscaping.
• Professional, positive and outgoing attitude with excellent relationship building skills.
• Ability to express yourself clearly and concisely, orally and written.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including, but not limited to, walking over rough terrain, bending, driving and working occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
• Strong planning and problem solving skills.
• Driven to deliver the best, personally and professionally.
• Organized and efficient self-starter, who is results orientated.
• Unquestionable work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Effective communicator – capable of providing clear direction to the team.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving abstract.
• Safety oriented. Ability to read and understand utility locates.
• Basic MS Word experience preferred.

Additional Assets
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering plans/drawings.
• Valid safety tickets.

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
