About The Role
Airswift is seeking an experienced Accountant (Fixed asset) to join Woodside in Perth, Western Australia on a contract basis. As a Fixed Asset Accountant, you will be responsible for the management and reporting of the company's fixed asset portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely accounting and compliance with relevant accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity to use your technical accounting expertise within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing
• Oversee the full fixed asset life cycle, including acquisition, depreciation, disposals, and impairment assessments
• Prepare and analyse monthly fixed asset reports, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions
• Ensure fixed asset records are maintained in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, providing input on fixed asset balances
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and resolve fixed asset-related queries
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of fixed asset accounting processes and controls
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and other accounting duties as required
What we're looking for
• Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar fixed asset accounting role, preferably within a large, complex organisation
• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting principles, depreciation methods, and relevant accounting standards
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues
• Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical information to non-financial stakeholders
• Proactive and collaborative approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement
