The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Park is hiring a Fisheries Wildlife Biologist I for a full-time position in Dodge City, KS. Responsibilities include managing the private lands program across three counties, providing habitat assistance, addressing wildlife issues, and collaborating with various partners. The role is supervised by the Fisheries/Wildlife Biologist Supervisor and involves significant fieldwork within the designated regions.
FISHERIES/WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST I – Position #K0236250 This unclassified, full-time position, within the Wildlife Division, is located in the Dodge City Region 4 Office and is directly supervised by Aaron Baugh, Fisheries/Wildlife Biologist Supervisor. Key Responsibilities: Administers the private lands program of the Wildlife Division in three western Kansas counties, Lane, Gray and Haskell. Contracting over 25,000 acres of Walk-In Hunting Access, VPA, HACH, and Special Hunts on Private Lands within the three county District. Additional duties include providing wildlife habitat technical and financial assistance through the Department’s Habitat First program, addressing wildlife disease and animal damage issues, and working with NRCS, FSA, Ducks Unlimited and other partners to maximize wildlife habitats within the three counties.
