The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is hiring a Fish Culture Specialist for a twelve-month contract at Ten Sleep and Wigwam Hatcheries. Responsibilities include spawning activities, tank cleaning, feeding, fish inventories, and maintaining equipment and facilities. The role may require weekend work to monitor the hatchery. The position offers a salary of $24 per hour and does not require a degree.
Description and FunctionsOpen Until Filled GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking one (1) twelve month contract Fish Culture Specialist to work between the Ten Sleep Hatchery and Wigwam Rearing Station. Duties and responsibilities will be split between the two hatcheries. Under supervision, work will include but not be limited to Yellowstone and Bear River Cutthroat spawning activities, tank cleaning, feeding, sample counts, fish inventories, feed calculations, fish stocking, and assisting other Department hatcheries as needed. Duties will also include maintaining equipment such as PCI oxygen generators, drum filters, UV disinfection systems, pumps, lawn mowers, and pressure washers.
