Job Description
The State of California is hiring a Fish and Wildlife Technician in Sacramento, CA, to aid in the conservation and management of fish and wildlife species. Responsibilities include conducting field surveys, implementing conservation plans, habitat restoration, and educating the public. Conduct field surveys and data collection to monitor fish and wildlife populations and their habitats.
Assist in the implementation of conservation and management plans for fish and wildlife species.
Conduct habitat restoration and enhancement activities to improve the health and diversity of ecosystems.
Perform wildlife and habitat assessments to inform management decisions.
Respond to and investigate reports of wildlife conflicts and assist in resolving them.
Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to promote conservation and protection of natural resources.
Collect and analyze data to support research projects and inform policy decisions.
Educate the public about the importance of preserving and protecting fish and wildlife species and their habitats.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of field observations and data.
Operate and maintain equipment and tools necessary for fieldwork.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal and environmental safety.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Stay up-to-date on current regulations and laws related to fish and wildlife management.
Assist in the drafting and review of reports, proposals, and other documents related to fish and wildlife management.
Uphold ethical and legal standards in all aspects of work.
