CitiPower and Powercor are seeking a First Peoples RAP Relationship Officer in Melbourne, VIC. The role involves supporting the First Peoples Engagement Team, managing relationships with Registered Aboriginal Parties, and assisting in the implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans. About the role:
The First Peoples RAP Relationship Officer provides general support to the First Peoples Engagement Team and the business more broadly to successfully deliver on the commitments made in RAPs and their associated strategies.
More specifically, this role will provide support for Registered Aboriginal Parties engagement, Land Use Activity Agreement management, and Reconciliation Action Plans.
What you’ll deliver:
• Maintain an up-to-date contact list of Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs) across the service area.
• Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with RAPs to ensure meaningful engagement.
• Lead the negotiation, development, and implementation of Land Use Activity Agreements (LUAAs) in consultation with RAPs and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor, report, and advise the business on any emerging issues or concerns raised by RAPs.
• Assist the First Peoples Team with administrative tasks related to the First Peoples Working Group meetings.
• Assist in planning and delivering Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week events, including logistics, stakeholder engagement, and cultural protocols.
• Ensure all engagement with RAPs is conducted with cultural sensitivity and respect.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
• Demonstrated experience with engaging with Registered Aboriginal Parties, First Peoples communities and organisations in Victoria.
• Driving positive change, leading, and delivering initiatives that measurably improve First Peoples outcomes.
• Knowledge of Reconciliation Action Plans delivery in a corporate setting.
• Community and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong reporting skills.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in community development, renewable energy, stakeholder engagement or equivalent experience.
