The City of Bowling Green is hiring firefighters to protect lives and property. Responsibilities include fighting fires, managing hazardous materials, maintaining equipment, and conducting inspections. Applicants must be U.S. eligible, at least 18 years old, and possess a valid driver's license. The position offers a salary of $55,836, with additional pay for EMT certification. The work schedule is 24 hours on followed by 48 hours off.

DUTIES:
• Join the team dedicated to protecting lives and property.
• As a firefighter, you'll be tackling everything from fighting fires to handling hazardous materials and responding to both man-made and natural disasters.
• You'll also keep equipment in top shape, maintain the fire station, conduct important inspections, and handle some routine paperwork to keep things running smoothly.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Age 18 by your written test date.
• Good driving, police, personal and employment record
• Must provide High School Diploma, High School Transcript or equivalent
• Must complete/return attached Form I-2 Polygraph Document
• Valid Driver's License
• Males between ages 18-26 need to be registered with Selective Services
SALARY: $55,836; additional $4,300 upon academy completion
• $1,600 additional for EMT certification
HOURS: 24 hr. on/48 hr. off schedule; 7:00 am - 7:00 am

• It is the applicants responsibility to obtain and submit CPAT.
• CPAT cards must not expire before/on October 22, 2025.

• Applicants will NOT move forward in the hiring process unless a valid CPAT Certification is received on or before June 30, 2025.
• If you are an out of state candidate, the state of KY will accept a CPAT from out of state.
