Job Overview

The State of Washington Department of Natural Resources is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Fire Prevention and Control Specialist. This role will support the DNR Mission through fire suppression and prevention work within the Spillman Fire Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting community wildfire prevention and preparedness activities
• Coordinating and accomplishing Wildland Urban Interface mapping
• Working on fuels reduction assignments
• Providing supervision for wildland engines in the work unit

Requirements:
• Certified as a NWCG Incident Commander Type 5 and Firefighter Type 1
• Experience in wildland fire suppression tactics and fire behavior recognition
• Supervisory experience
• Ability to professionally communicate with various groups
