The role involves collaboration on financial analysis, strategic planning, and reporting within the renewable energy sector. Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis

Location: New York, NY

Our Financial Planning & Analysis team is looking for a Financial Analyst, FP&A to join their team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Analyst is part of a collaborative team of professionals, working closely together to provide analysis and insights into the results of Brookfield Renewable North America, Brookfield Renewable's Canadian operating platform's power business for both management reporting purposes and strategic decision making. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growth-oriented organization and to gain experience and an understanding of the energy sector.

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Growth
• Work collaboratively with the business development, asset development, construction and capital markets teams to manage our development projects.
• Providing support to Business development, Asset Development, Construction/ Development and Valuations functions on various recurring and ad-hoc initiatives
• Knowledge and familiarity with concepts related to financial modelling and investment key performance indicators such as Discounted cash flow methods, IRRs and Capital structures
• Assist the Senior Manager/ Manager preparing strategic plans and annual operating budgets as they relate to Growth initiatives
• Strong knowledge and/ or back with FP&A and demonstrated application of basic concepts related, but not limited to, analyzing financial results and forecasts, highlighting variances, anomalies and identifying trends

Capital Recycling
• Support the Director on Financial due diligence related to capital recycling initiatives
• Engagement with related and third party partners (Brookfield Asset Management M&A teams, financial advisors, Investment Banking teams and Audit teams)

Systems & Reporting
• Produce regular reports of construction and development project spend, focusing on variances to plan and forecast in support of both internal and external deliverables
• Assisting with Procore and IFS integration and maintenance, as well as data validation where required

Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, in either FP&A, Corporate Finance and/ or Accounting
• Undergraduate degree in Commerce or pursuit of an advanced post-secondary education, such as MBA or Masters of Finance/ Accounting
• A Professional designation (CFA, CPA) completed or pursing is considered an asset
• General knowledge of the renewable energy industry
• Intangible soft skills: accountable, organized, proactive, charismatic, and a clear communicator

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
