About the role:

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role by providing valuable accounting insights within the US finance team and mentoring team members. You will also offer your expertise in reporting and controls for Southern pellet operations.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the month-end close process, including posting specific manual journals.
• Preparing comprehensive financial reports for the Southern pellet operations.
• Reviewing and preparing significant monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting various tasks such as tax compliance, audit assistance, forecasting, and monthly/annual financial reporting.
• Ensuring robust financial controls are implemented and understood.
• Collaborating with the Finance Manager to coordinate and execute business-wide projects related to accounting standards or operational changes.

Dimensions:
• Offering a wide range of financial accounting knowledge and analysis for US operations, generating approximately $700 million in annual revenue.
• Working on technical, consolidation, and project activities as directed by senior finance leadership.
• Regular interaction with North America finance colleagues and key stakeholders, including the Financial Manager and Director of Finance.

Who we're looking for:

To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; additional qualifications such as an MBA, MACC, CPA, or CMA are a plus.
• Strong technical and financial accounting skills, with a solid understanding of IFRS.
• Excellent attention to detail and a thorough grasp of financial control principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to build strong relationships at all organizational levels.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message to different audiences.
• The role supports a hybrid working model, requiring occasional office presence as directed by finance leadership.
• Minimal travel is required.
