Job Description

Huntington National Bank is seeking a Finance Planning & Analysis professional for their Insurance segment in Minnetonka, MN. The role involves advanced financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning to enhance insurance performance. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and guiding junior analysts. Description
• Provides advanced, short & long-term financial analysis to assess Insurance performance, identify trends, and evaluate financial viability of business initiatives. Conducts and documents complex ad-hoc financial analysis projects.
• Leads the development and analyzes budgeting, forecasting, and/or strategic planning for the Insurance business segment. Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly forecasting models and reports to support monthly close analyses.
• Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future trended future requirements, and operating forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to support decision making.
• Evaluate financial performance and identify areas for improvement and conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Prepare financial reports including monthly/quarterly reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting deliverables. Present financial insights to senior management.
• Heavy collaboration with Strategy, Investor Relations, HR, and Finance cross-functional teams and business partners, including Insurance President, Insurance Director of Operations, Insurance Analytics and Accounting teams, as well as Line of Business Directors to drive financial performance improvements.
• Maintain financial forecast and budget tools, develop annual budget and business plan based on the drivers of the business that meets the desired corporate targets.
• Lead project workflow and guide junior financial analysts as needed.
• Builds out proformas for initiatives; tracks proforma performance.
• Manages Headcount through the Workday Adaptive system; handles approvals for all position creation, deletion, and modification, and all job offers.
• Oversees month-end close process, ensuring all proper entries are submitted.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
• 5 + years of financial analyst/analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Financial Services or Insurance Industry experience strongly preferred
• Self-motivated, forward-thinking individual with a strategic mind-set who can drive performance
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex material concisely and effectively across all layers of the organization
• Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Compensation Range

$70,000-$140,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.  Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.  In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
