Nexamp is hiring a Finance Analyst in Boston, MA, to support capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic projects. The role involves analyzing financial data, developing KPIs, and collaborating with various teams. Candidates should have 1-3 years of finance experience or a relevant degree, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel. A passion for renewable energy is a plus. This position is hybrid, requiring some in-office presence.

What we're looking for:
Nexamp is seeking a Finance Analyst to join our growing team! This position will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for assisting with capital planning, forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and other ad hoc projects. This individual will have the opportunity for future growth and development amongst a group of high achieving and fun professionals. We are seeking a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional to join our dynamic team.
You will be hybrid out of our Boston office and will report to the Manager, Finance.
What you'll do:
• Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, ensuring timely and accurate updates to financial models.
• Analyze operational results and assess the financial impact of business decisions.
• Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor company and departmental performance.
• Partner cross-functionally with business units to understand drivers of performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present monthly and ad hoc financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses to leadership.
• Partner with Finance & Treasury to assist in cash flow forecasting and cash management strategies.
• Continuously improve and streamline financial models, tools, and processes.
• Support special projects including strategic planning, cost optimization, and investment analysis
What you'll bring: (adding in required skills AND Nexamp competencies)
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, consulting, or a related field; or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Solid understanding of financial statements and financial modeling
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
• High attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to assess current processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainability is a strong plus
• Experience with NetSuite and/or Power BI is a plus
• Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
• Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
• Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
• Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
• Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
• Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
