Our client, a rapidly growing leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to join their dynamic, fully remote team. This crucial role involves providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair for our client's state-of-the-art solar energy systems and related infrastructure across various customer locations. You will be the frontline technical expert, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of renewable energy solutions for our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on solar energy systems and components. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues affecting system performance. Install, commission, and integrate new solar energy systems and equipment. Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests in a timely and efficient manner. Document all service activities, including maintenance performed, parts used, and issues encountered, using company software. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding system operation and maintenance. Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to identify recurring issues and suggest product improvements. Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring equipment is properly stored and maintained. Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through training and self-study on the latest renewable energy technologies. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or a related field is highly preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service, electrical maintenance, or a similar technical role, preferably within the solar or renewable energy industry. Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, and mechanical principles relevant to solar installations. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively. Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites as required. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Familiarity with battery storage systems and grid-tied inverters is a significant plus.
