Introductory Employment Period

Your employment with Archaea will begin with an introductory period of 90 days, starting from your first day of work. The introductory period is intended to support your transition into the role and provide an opportunity for both you and the Company to ensure a strong mutual fit. At the conclusion of the introductory period, your performance will be reviewed. Note that your employment with Archaea is at‑will both during the probationary period and if you successfully complete the probationary period. At‑will means that either you or Archaea may terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause, and with or without prior notice.

About The Role

The ideal candidate would be located in. The Field Service/Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly skilled mechanical, electrical, electronic and instrumentation work in the installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of Archaea plant equipment, including but not limited to: troubleshooting simple to complex issues, rigging, maintaining and repairing pumps, engines, electric motors, fans, compressors, piping, valves, filters, traps, vaporizers, heat exchangers, gas meters, gas, instrumentation, MCC’s, VFD’s, and fire detection equipment.

Key Accountabilities
• Works closely with the plant operations team in the troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment.
• Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating conditions specified in regulations and repair manuals.
• Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
• Tests and calibrates, to established industry standards, equipment such as pressure and temperature transmitters, valve positioners, pneumatic controllers, electronic controllers, pressure and temperature switches and other process control equipment.
• Records equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take pre‑designated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Performs equipment inspections to ensure that the equipment is safely maintained and operable; performs related testing and repair as needed.
• Calibrates electronic instrumentation, verifies, and adjusts equipment tolerances and records results on calibration checklists.
• Performs work orders for inspections and both preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintains test equipment calibration records.
• Assists in tracking spare parts inventory reporting deficiencies for restock and reorder.
• Assists with electrical control system designs and modifications when requested.
• Follows control system techniques and best practices.
• Assists with new plant start‑up testing.
• Maintains current knowledge of the latest codes, standards and best practices to encourage electrical safety for personnel and equipment protection.
• Assists with PLC programming for a wide variety of processes, control system hardware and wiring, HMI systems, and a wide variety of hard‑wired control circuits.
• Assists the bid solicitation process from equipment suppliers and oversees procurement of major control systems components such as switchgear, custom control panels, MCC’s, PLC’s, and HMI systems if requested.
• Assists with quality control over all new control systems equipment, performing pre‑delivery inspections and tests at supplier facilities where needed.
• Observes operating of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair/replacement of mechanical components and necessary adjustments.
• Assist other maintenance team members in repairs and downtime events.
• Work shift is 10 hours per day 4 days per week. The work schedule is subject to change per business needs and management discretion.
• Overtime may be required to meet various business needs.
• Must be able to travel to plants in region to support maintenance and outage activities.

Essential Education
• Graduation from high school (or GED) and three years related Mechanical work experience.
• Vocational Training/ Military Service preferred.

Essential Experience
• 1‑3 years’ experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably Allen Bradley, GE (Proficy Machine Edition or Cimplicity).
• Familiar with HMI programming or troubleshooting (no specific manufacturer).
• 1‑3 years’ experience working with and troubleshooting VFD motor controls and basic process control equipment (pressure, flow, temperature sensors).
• 1‑3 years’ experience with natural gas or LFG fueled engines in either power generation or gas compression applications (preferably Cat engines).
• Strong communication, CMMS, computer skills, and some experience with automation systems.
• Ability to work with hand tools and various shop equipment (welders, drills, metal cutting, etc.).
• Good people skills and able to work through conflict to achieve desired results.
• Ability to service machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• High regard for safety standards. Experience with LOTO and other safety programs.
• Proficient in reading and understanding prints/schematics. Ex P&A’s, GA’s, control drawings.
• Must possess ability to read and interpret operations and safety manuals, analyze, and apply basic troubleshooting and repair techniques on plant equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Desirable Criteria
• Maintenance of industrial equipment, specifically gas processing equipment.
• 1‑3 years I&E experience.
• Any technical certification or training is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $40,000 – $45,000. This range is a genuine estimate of the possible base compensation at the time of posting. The position offers paid vacation ranging from 120–240 hours per year for full‑time employees (60–240 hours per year for part‑time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
