Job Description

EARTHRES a Division of RESPEC, seeks a field scientist to assist with our AML and CQA projects throughout West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Primary activities include:
• Conduct geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental investigations.
• Perform field sampling of water, soil, and materials.
• Analyze, evaluate, and interpret subsurface data, including soil and groundwater characteristics.
• Oversee and assist in soil and rock classification during drilling projects.
• Provide construction quality assurance (CQA) observations for various construction projects. (all sectors/project types)
• Support geologic and engineering tasks in the office, including data analysis and report preparation.
• Develop your technical knowledge through diverse project experience across multiple industries.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Expand your expertise by working on projects in the energy, mining, industrial, and environmental sectors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended durations.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with CADD, ArcGIS, or boring log software (e.g., gINT) is a plus.
