Overview

Engineer I normally works under close supervision on a variety of projects that have specific instructions and expected results.

This position may be hired at the entry level to senior level engineer and will be determined based on the successful candidate's background, education & experience.

Responsibilities
• Recommend solutions and alternatives for projects interconnected to the distribution primary

underground or low voltage secondary network systems.
• Project management responsibilities for complex underground projects.
• Guide customers through vault design and construction process.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and departments relative to underground issues.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
• Gathers, correlates, and analyses specific data using established procedures.
• Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations,

tests, and analysis.
• Performs a variety of routine tasks to become familiar with the engineering methods, practices,

and programs of the company.
• Supports operating and maintenance functions with problem identification, engineering analysis,

and problem resolution activities.
• Prepares and presents reports giving conclusions of job-related engineering activities.
• Assists other engineers with large projects, as needed.
• Assists with the development of goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures.
• Plans and controls all activities so as to provide an accident-free work place.
• Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
• Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Occasionally directs the activities of coops, supervisors, and others as they perform various

activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

This position may be hired at the entry level to senior level of the Engineer role. The level offered will be determined by the successful candidate's background, education & experience.

Basic Qualifications - Engineer I
• Bachelor's Degree ABET Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology

Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective.

Work Conditions
• Equally balanced between an office environment and field work. The field work requires frequent walking and climbing.

Salary Range information for all Engineer levels:

Engineer I: $74,400 - 111600

Engineer II: $84800 - 127200

Engineer III: $106400 - 159600

Project Engineer: $133600 - 200400
