Job Description
IEA Management Services is seeking a Field Engineer for their Solar/Renewables Construction Team in Nampa, ID. This role involves traveling to various construction sites across the U.S. to inspect and monitor solar projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and codes. Candidates should have a degree in a related field and will receive a salary of $65,000-$70,000/year. The position requires up to 100% travel, making it non-remote.

As a Field Engineer, you will travel to construction sites and engage in the forefront of sustainability. Your main responsibilities will include inspecting and monitoring construction activities independently, ensuring they align with our blueprints and conform to all necessary specifications and codes.
Your attention to detail will be critical in identifying significant issues and collaborating with project management to overcome challenges. In this dynamic role, you’ll gain invaluable experience while working alongside like-minded professionals committed to a sustainable future. Location & Travel Details:
You will have the chance to travel across the U.S. to help build renewable projects. This position requires you to travel up to 100% of the time, with potential placements on project sites anywhere in the country. Expect to spend an average of 8-12 months per project. We provide a designated daily per diem to help cover living expenses, along with routine travel home (rotation) from the job site, and a monthly vehicle allowance.

Responsibilities:
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Inspect quality of work on large-scale solar projects, including roads and installations.
• Ensure construction work aligns with design documents.
• Review inspection reports and communicate any issues to the Field Quality Manager.
• Ensure materials comply with approved submittals.
• Conduct surveying and measuring for roadways and structures.
• Organize daily activities to accurately record quality control data.
• Monitor work scope and prepare comprehensive daily reports.
• Prevent deficiencies through proactive inspections.
• Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
• Communicate with construction managers to report on progress and coordinate operations.
• Assist in compiling operations and maintenance manuals.
• Manage punch lists for completed work.
• Participate in validation of calibrated tools and equipment.
• Utilize construction management software for documentation.
• Support job book development and benchmarking.
• Mentor and train Quality Inspectors as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications & Compensation
Field Engineer I:
• Compensation $65,000-$70,000/year, based on experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent with 2+ years in related construction field.
Field Engineer II:
• Compensation $70,000-$80,000/year, based on experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years in related construction field.
• High School graduate or equivalent with 3+ years in related construction field.
Field Engineer III:
• Compensation $80,000-$90,000/year, based on experience.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years in related construction field preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent with 4+ years in related construction field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Take reasonable care of your health and safety and those around you by adhering to safety principles.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.
• Detail-oriented to effectively manage tasks independently.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups of employees.
Working Environment:
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.
• Exposure to physical hazards requiring adherence to safety precautions.
• Comfort with physical work, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
