Primoris Services Corporation is hiring a Field Engineer I for Battery Energy Storage Systems in Oklahoma City, OK. This site-based role involves overseeing daily operations on construction projects, ensuring safety, cost, and quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. A four-year degree in construction management or engineering is required, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
Position Overview
Primoris Renewable Energy is currently seeking Field Engineers to join our team for both immediate and 2025 starts. This site‐based role requires the Field Engineer to administer daily operations under the supervision of the Trade Superintendent, Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Site Manager. The role focuses on ensuring cost, safety, schedule, and quality on power generating construction projects, while also providing technical expertise, guidance on installation, QA/QC enforcement, and assisting with documentation tasks such as job books and as‐builts.
Key Responsibilities
Complete daily production and cost monitoring by reviewing reports and ensuring safety data is collected for effective comparison analysis and planning.
Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Review contract documents to validate inclusions/exclusions and monitor accurate quantities for billing purposes.
Manage project equipment and material transactions and monitor inventory levels.
Ensure a safe work environment by complying with company, federal, and state safety regulations; assist with on-site risk management and safety representation.
Familiarize with project design documents, specifications, Quality Plan, and Inspection and Test Plan, and assist in managing overall project quality.
Participate in meetings, document minutes, and prepare required managerial and daily planning documents.
Coordinate with Site Manager and Project Engineer to secure local permits and manage utility company communications and One-Call requirements.
Verify the accuracy of foreman and subcontractor daily reports including labor hours, equipment hours, and production data.
Analyze field information through frequent interactions with on-site personnel.
Conduct project kick-off and close-out activities according to established procedures.
Assist with contractual closeout activities including preparing job books and as-builts.
Initiate and process RFIs for construction-related inquiries or issues.
Review and research materials for submittals ensuring compliance and proper documentation for client approval.
Assist in document control by auditing field drawings to confirm use of the latest revisions.
Support trade superintendents with work plan preparation through takeoffs and Material Request Forms.
Monitor purchased consumables on site and in storage, ensuring adherence to the submittal process.
Assist in establishing and maintaining crew and equipment matrices in line with project work plans.
Required Qualifications
Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; or equivalent education/experience. Construction experience is preferred.
Proven accounting skills, with strong math and record-keeping abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Visio, Primavera).
Excellent communication abilities (oral, written, presentation, listening) along with effective motivational and supervisory skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
Willingness to re-locate to the project site for the duration of assignments (typically 6-18 months).
Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
Environmental Responsibilities
Ensure environmental compliance by adhering to all site-specific procedures and regulations.
Train and develop field representatives in environmental stewardship.
Familiarize thoroughly with site conditions, plans, and regulatory requirements to secure environmental compliance.
Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure construction activities meet mitigation requirements and permit conditions.
Track progress and coordinate with Primoris representatives and subcontractors to maximize environmental installation production while minimizing costs.
Support project leadership in negotiating environmental modifications and changes with the owner.
Monitor storm water pollution prevention and erosion/sediment control plans, submitting regular reports for review.
Coordinate with the owner’s environmental representative to resolve compliance issues ahead of schedule impacts.

Salary: $77,000-87,000, dependent on experience, qualifications, and competencies.
