Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Natural Resources Field Ecologist to lead, manage, train, and mentor multiple crews in conducting ecological surveys in support of utility, transportation, and development projects primarily in Minnesota and surrounding states.
The ideal candidate will have experience with wetland and stream delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, functional assessments, habitat assessments, vegetation surveys, wildlife surveys, and associated survey reporting work.
This is a full-time benefits-eligible opportunity with an anticipated hourly wage between $27 to $38 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Ideal candidates for this position will reside in Minnesota and be familiar with Minnesota natural resource and regulatory agencies and their required protocols.

Responsibilities
• Conduct wetland delineations according to the 1987 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineations Manual and applicable regional supplements.
• Perform habitat assessments and species-specific surveys.
• Collect, record, manage, and analyze geospatial data using Trimble and ESRI products.
• Prepare technical reports and memos for project planning and permitting purposes.
• Coordinate with project teams and permitting leads to determine field expectations and data collection requirements.
• Support proposal development for ecological tasks.
• Apply situational awareness to mitigate in-field risks.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Ecology, Soil Science, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related degree.
• Minimum of 1 field season leading wetland delineation teams.
• Knowledge of Minnesota DNR and USACE jurisdictional wetland regulations.
• Experience with USACE Atypical and Problem Wetland Areas methodology.
• Familiarity using Trimble and ESRI products.
• Field work experience in Minnesota.
