Job Summary of FedEx Freight Logistics Handler:

As a FedEx Freight Logistics Handler, your duties will center around managing and processing freight in the facility. This involves handling shipments, ensuring their proper loading, unloading, and sorting. You will be an essential contributor to maintaining the smooth flow of goods and supporting the effective logistics operations of FedEx.

Responsibilities of FedEx Freight Logistics Handler:
• Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials), using current electronic or manual system.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope).
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualification of FedEx Freight Logistics Handler:
• The ideal applicant should have completed a high school education or its comparable level of certification.
• Access is granted subject to everyone meeting the minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• Having previous experience in warehousing, freight handling, or driving a forklift is a desirable asset.
• Prior experience in hostler/yard mule tasks would be an asset in this position.
• Having the ability to count and do basic math problems, either through manual calculations or the use of a calculator.
• Good communication expertise is not limited to the transmission of thoughts and ideas. It also encompasses the use of appropriate tone and language for the audience.
• Proficient in lifting and carrying by hand various loads of different weights in a week, as well as in raising dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds and unlocking trailer doors demanding approximately 75 pounds of lift force, multiple times daily or more.
• Throughout the shift, it is necessary to have the skill to bend, twist, lower oneself, and move items by pushing and pulling them.
• Having the capability to work alone proficiently or in unison with others.
• Those with previous experience in dock or warehouse settings are preferred.

Working Condition of FedEx Freight Logistics Handler:
• Dock workers are prone to exposure to extreme weather conditions, harmful fumes, toxic dust particles, excessive noise levels, and vehicle exhaust emissions, causing potential health risks.
• The working hours may undergo alterations based on the operational imperative.
• Regular interaction with staff members at the service center; fast-moving, time-sensitive.
