Anchor QEA seeks a Senior Water Resources Engineer in Seattle, WA. This role involves managing water resource projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include project management, technical guidance, design and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer at Anchor QEA, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our nation's water resources. This role involves overseeing water resource projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote sustainable water management practices.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Project Management: Oversee water resources engineering projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely completion within budget and regulatory standards.
2. Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical guidance on water resources engineering principles, including hydrology, hydraulics, water quality, and watershed management.
3. Design and Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses and design for water supply systems, flood control projects, and irrigation systems, utilizing advanced engineering software and modeling tools.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as community stakeholders, to gather input, address concerns, and promote project acceptance.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet federal, state, and local environmental regulations and guidelines, including NEPA, ESA, and Clean Water Act requirements.
6. Funding and Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, funding proposals, and grant applications to secure financing for water resource initiatives.
7. Research and Development: Stay informed about the latest developments in water resources technology and practices; incorporate innovative solutions into project designs and strategies.
8. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing training and support to enhance their professional development.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on project management for government agencies such as the US Bureau of Reclamation.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain licensure in multiple states is a plus.
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, GIS) and strong analytical skills.
• Proven experience in managing complex projects, including familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and foster a positive work environment.
