Lee House Farm is seeking a dedicated Farm Worker/Livestock Person in Loxwood, UK. The role involves daily farm operations, livestock care, and market preparation. Ideal candidates should have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn, with or without prior farming experience. The position offers flexible hours, potential for apprenticeships, and accommodation for the right candidate. It is a full-time, in-person role.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Agricultural worker/stock person to join our team at Lee House Farm. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy farm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually. The job role offers a unique position to learn with the potential of furthering your own farming career.

We are a mixed, Organic farm producing Lamb, Mutton, Beef, free range eggs, Chicken & Turkey which is sold directly to our customers.

Lee House Farm is nestled between the Surrey Hills and the Sussex Weald, surrounded by ancient woodland and undulating small, hedgerow-edged fields. We are certified Organic, free range, Non-GM & high welfare.

Examples of Duties

Due to the nature of mixed farming, general duties will differ day to day. Examples below of various responsibilities:
• All aspects of the day-to-day running of the farm including checking, feeding & bedding stock. Ensuring high welfare at all times and monitoring health & condition of stock.
• Egg collecting & grading.
• Performing tasks with livestock such as weighing, worming & general health checks.
• Monitoring Livestock during lambing & calving and assisting where required.
• Helping to prepare for markets- selecting stock & loading.
• Assisting with the preparation of poultry.
• Operating Tractors & Telehandlers (Experience preferred but not essential)
• Communicating with the team on tasks for the day.
• Livestock rotation & management of grassland
• Fencing, operating hand-held machinery & general yard tasks.
• Record keeping in compliance with our organic standards.
• Moving livestock with a trailer (preferred but not essential)

Requirements
• Previous experience in farming or agricultural roles is an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to handle animals with care and compassion is essential for animal care responsibilities.
• Proficiency with machinery & hand held machinery (Preferred but not essential)
• A willingness to learn new skills related to farming practices and equipment maintenance is important.
• Right to work in the UK
• Understanding of Health & Safety Policies.
• Valid UK Driving Licence (Preferred but not essential)
• Great communication & passion for Agriculture.

Hours

We are a friendly team with a flexible approach.

Typical hours are 5 days a week including one day at the weekend.
