About the Farm

Our client is a sixth-generation family farm in the heart of Staffordshire. Specialising in root vegetables and cereals, they have built a reputation for excellence in both crop quality and operational efficiency. With innovation and sustainability at the core of their farming practices, they continue to grow and evolve-making this an exciting time to join the team.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing

As Farm Manager, you will take full responsibility for the root vegetable farming operations, ensuring the entire process-from establishment to harvest-is executed with precision and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing the planting, irrigation, crop management, and harvesting of root vegetables. Managing day-to-day farm operations to optimise productivity and crop quality. Leading and motivating a team of 10-15 employees, including skilled operators, placement students, and seasonal staff. Working closely with the Farm Director to implement efficient and sustainable farming practices. Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations, maintaining high standards of welfare for both staff and crops. Supporting all aspects of the broader farming operation, contributing to long-term business growth.

Experienced in farm management - ideally with a background in fresh produce and a strong understanding of root vegetable production. A natural leader - confident in managing and developing a diverse team. Technically skilled - knowledgeable in sustainable crop production, irrigation, and modern farming techniques. Passionate about agriculture - eager to take on a role with long-term career potential in a well-established business. Health & Safety conscious - with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards across all operations. Educated in agriculture - holding a relevant higher-level qualification.
