FARM LABOR â?? ENTRY LEVEL

Job Placements is seeking entry-level farm laborers in the West Rand District Municipality, South Africa. Candidates should have experience on an organic pomegranate farm, knowledge of organic pest control, and skills in post-harvest handling. Responsibilities include scouting for pests, cold storage management, and sorting fruit. The role requires reliability, physical fitness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience working on an organic pomegranate farm.
• Practical knowledge of organic pest control methods, including organic pesticides, fungal sprays, and organic fertilizers.
• Ability to scout for pests and diseases and correctly identify common agricultural pests.
• Experience with post-harvest handling, including:
• Cold storage management
• Sorting and grading fruit
• Pomegranate deseeding processes advantageous
• Working knowledge and experience in organic cultivation of the following crops:
• Avocado
• Cape gooseberry
• Granadilla
• Lemons
• Ability to work independently and as part of a farm team.
• Must be reliable, physically fit, and willing to work in an outdoor agricultural environment.
