Faculty Director for the Institute for Agroecology

The University of Vermont seeks a Faculty Director for the Institute for Agroecology in Burlington, VT. The role involves strategic leadership, fundraising, and administration, ensuring the Institute's effective functioning. The Director will lead initiatives, supervise staff and students, and maintain relationships within and outside UVM. This position is full-time and focuses on advancing food systems solutions through collaboration with various communities.
Faculty Director for the Institute for Agroecology

The Institute for Agroecology is sustained by a small leadership team that supports a community of UVM staff, students, and faculty to advance food systems solutions in partnership with practitioner communities locally, nationally and globally. The Institute's two Associate Directors and the Faculty Director make up the administrative backbone of the Institute, dividing responsibilities across distinct areas of focus, and coordinating efforts to ensure an effective overall functioning of the Institute. The Faculty Director (FD) focuses on four areas that are critical to the Institute: Strategic leadership, UVM leadership and relations; Fundraising and financial well-being; and Administration and operations.

The Faculty Director leads the institute's strategic directions, ensures the Institute is adequately resourced, maintains close relationships with relevant administrative and leadership actors within and outside of UVM, and provides support to signature programs within their area of expertise. The FD will also supervise staff and students, as needed. Along with other members of the leadership team, the FD will represent the Institute within and outside of UVM.
