You will be responsible for working closely with the engineering and production team to fabricate Ample-designed components using a variety of fabrication methods focusing on 3D printing and CNC Milling. Ample uses advanced 3D printing equipment such as Carbon 3D as well as FDM and SLA printers.

You will be working with the various teams to solve design challenges and determine the best way to fabricate the components or design them for easier fabrication. You will be responsible for maintaining the relevant equipment and ensuring its optimal operation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Read job orders and blueprints for prototype and production parts and produce them on a variety of equipment in our machine shop.
• Operate and repair/maintain FDM and SLA printers, including CARBON brand printers
• Set up 3- and 5-axis CNC machines, including tooling creation, tool selection and programming
• Prepare STL models for printing based on the design requirements and project timetables
• Provide feedback to engineers and designers to create parts which are well suited to additive manufacturing without compromising functionality or scalability
• Interpret CAD designs and drawings to ensure finished products meet the required quality and functionality standards
• Manage inventory of 3D printed parts and work with Ample’s inventory team to make sure projects are ready to move from design to assembly on time and with all the required parts
• Manage the purchase/storage/disposal of materials and equipment including filament, resin, solvents, spare parts, and PPE
• Maintain good working relationships with relevant suppliers
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Run multiple machines of different types, including scheduling jobs to maximize productivity.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
• Experience using/building/repairing FDM 3D printers required
• Competency in setup, programming and operation of CNC machines to produce detailed metal parts
• Experience with SLA printers is a plus
• Experience with CAD software is a plus
• Experience with chemicals/lab safety is a plus
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize between multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be an independent worker, this position is at the intersection of of multiple teams at Ample, and the employee must be capable of working with all of them with little supervision
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to give and receive clear and concise verbal and written directives
• A learning mindset including an open mind to critical feedback
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to deal with ambiguity

Schedule:
• Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Occasional overtime may be required

Education
• HS or greater; some college or tech school, preferred
