The Opportunity

With exciting projects on the horizon, we’re expanding our team and are looking for a highly motivated and highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer with focus on Civil and Structural components of substations.

Based full time in Adelaide, South Australia, you will interface with other technical disciplines like transmission Lines and telecommunication, while providing strategic technical leadership, driving best practice in design, construction, and operation while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

In this role you will also be tasked with:
• Leading or providing technical solutions for substation engineering (standards & ElectraNet compliance)
• Provide expert advice on civil and structural design throughout projects.
• Champion new technologies & processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders & effectively communicating complex technical information.
• Manage document quality & participate in risk assessments.
• Develop & maintain design standards & guidelines.

About You

Here’s what we’re looking for in our new team member:
• Engineering degree (Electrical, Civil or Structural) with at least 5 to 10 years' experience in the design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of Substation assets.
• Knowledge and experience of whole of life function and operation of high voltage electricity assets.
• Expert knowledge of specifications, installation, testing methods of Substation equipment and materials.
• Strong knowledge of civil, and structural design documentation, engineering surveys, geotechnical investigations, site inspections and construction management.
• Proficient knowledge and experience of SPACE GASS / Microstran, TEDDS, Strand7, and SkyCiv.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review designs.
• A strong commitment to safety and problem-solving.
• Proven ability to work with internal and external stakeholders with good communication skills.
